Kathmandu: The Kaski District Court has granted the police permission to detain Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane for an additional seven days to continue their investigation into charges of cooperative fraud and organized crime.
On Thursday, the court, under the bench of Judge Chandrakant Paudel, approved the request for an extended remand, allowing authorities to further investigate Lamichhane's involvement in the case.
Lamichhane was initially arrested last Friday in Kathmandu, following an earlier court order. He was first remanded in custody for six days on Sunday, which was set to expire today. He remains in police custody in Kaski, with plans to transport him to Rupandehi for further questioning in connection to the case.
